Cultivation and Harvesting
The essence of Montoliu is born in the most fertile lands of the Dominican Republic. We work side by side with expert growers in Tamboril, the world's tobacco city, selecting only the finest leaves. Each harvest is a tribute to tradition and a step toward excellence.
Cured
After harvesting, the leaves rest in curing houses, suspended in the warm, constant air. There, in a slow, natural process, they lose their initial green color and transform into golden and brown hues, releasing the first aromas that announce the greatness of a Montoliu.


Fermentation
At Montoliu, we select leaves that have undergone prolonged fermentation, lasting at least two years or longer, always under meticulous control. In the piles, the natural heat and the experience of our masters transform each leaf: rough edges disappear and deep, elegant aromas emerge. This is where the tobacco reveals its true greatness.
Aging
